Can't download samples

I just received a kindle touch for christmas.  I have the device registered to my amazon account but every time I try to download a sample book, it wants me to register the device.  I have set up one click payment as well.  Any suggestions?

Hi, cj6116. Welcome to Kindleboards!

It seems like there've been quite a few problems today with downloading, so it may not be your Kindle that's at fault. I know it's frustrating when you're excited to use your new toy!

Try restarting the Kindle as that often helps, but if not, to be honest, I'd wait till tomorrow and try again. Let us know if you still have problems.

What Linjeakel said. And if you still aren't able to sample tomorrow I'd try contacting AMZ customer service. Maybe someone over there will have some suggestions, since it sounds like it's a problem other people are encountering.

My granddaughter had the same problem with it not recognizing her device registration.  I suggested she de-register and register again and it wored.  I'm guessing the problem was the overload on Amazon's servers and the de-registration provided a fresh registration.

Once in a while I have this problem but calling support resolves the issue right away.  I hope this helps.
