I want to change my profile, but can't without my current password.  I've searched all over this website to find help and can't find anything or anyone to help me reset my password.  I know about the page where the question is asked about resetting a password, but it shows you have to know your current one.  I have no idea what my "current" password should be since it's not the one I used when I registered.  Normally, when you can't remember your password you have an option to have a link mailed to you so that you can reset it.  But, not on this website.  Is there anybody out there who can help?  ANYBODY?! Shocked

I'll let Harvey, the board owner, know you're having an issue . . .

But in the mean time, what browser are you using? Does it save your passwords?*  I'm guessing so since you were able to post.  I'd suggest finding the settings in your browser where the saved passwords are stored and looking up the one it has for KindleBoards.

* I know Firefox does and I believe Explorer and Chrome do as well.

1.) I don't think you need your password to change your profile unless you want to change your password.
2.) To have the forum software email your password to you, log out, then, click on Log In and below the input boxes for your name and password, click on the link that says "I forgot my password" then enter the email address you used to join the forum.

Thanks Jeff!  I'd alerted Harvey but he's no doubt busy with Family stuff so no telling when he'd have seen this. . .and you taught me something too! Smiley

Glad I can help, Ann.

Actually, all Harvey can do is change someone's password. He can't read it. The forum software encrypts it.

No. . . .I meant I didn't know when he'd get on the boards and have a chance to see the question and respond. Roll Eyes Cheesy

Yep, Jeff's advice is right on and is in fact the only way to reset your password. There is not a way to retrieve a password as even those of us with admin rights are not able to see them.
