I was wondering if anyone could share their experience with eBook preorders.
As I sit here anxiously awaiting 77 Shadow Street, I was wondering if I can expect it at midnight EST or midnight local time, or what? I know, for example, Apple releases new music, movies, apps, etc etc. at or around 11pm EST, so me being on the West Coast get them around 9pm my time.
Might this be the case for Amazon? Anyone ever stay up and wait to see when it pops up?

It used to be just after midnight PST. Once in a while lately though, mine have shown up around 10 or so.

Amazon's Headquarters are in Seattle so they usually drop around midnight PST; sometimes they come early, sometimes they come late but that is the general time you can expect it.

I've got mine usually around the midnight hour...I decided to not pre-order the new Koontz book (cause I'm finishing Stieg Larsson trilogy), but now you got my interest sparked again...You can't beat a Koontz novel!!!

Mine used to come a few minutes after midnight (east coast), but the last pre order I had was not in by 3am when I went to bed. When I turneds it on again at 9am, it was there.

It's the middle of the night. I'm sleeping. But it is always there when I get up in the morning.

Thanks for the replies. Sad that it seems to be random from what you all are saying, but I lucked out with Dean's newest, it popped up at 9:30p PST. I did get an email saying it charged and it then downloaded to my Kindle, however it still showed preorder when I loaded the Amazon page.
pitbullandfire, while normally I blitz through books, I am a huge Koontz/King fan, so with their books I take my time. I'm about 6% through, and I am having to FORCE myself to stop reading so I can make it last. It is GREAT so far, really takes me back to "classic Koontz", or as a reviewer said, "Spooky Koontz." If you were on the fence, I'd recommend a buy! So far much better than Frankenstein (which seems to be a bit of a hit/miss with fans).

Thank you for the update...I'm probably gonna order it after I hit "post" LOL...I just finished Life Expectancy (older one) and was thinking of starting the Odd Thomas series after the Laarson trilogy...You've added some new temptation for me to entertain...
