I love my parents. They make me laugh...
Mom got a Kindle Touch for Xmas. Ever since she saw my first Kindle, she has wanted one. So my dad (with my sister's internet shopping skills) got my mom a Kindle. I bought her a case and an Amazon gift card to get her started. Christmas Eve was spent helping her set up an Amazon account and get her Kindle up and running.
First thing mom asks is if The Help is available for the Kindle, because they saw the movie and she wanted to read the book. So I showed her how to use her Kindle to search for specific books and whatnot. Now meanwhile, Dad and my boyfriend have been...shall we say...consuming large quantities of adult beverages. Dad comes in and asks me the same thing, and my mom tells him "She already showed me. I got it." So dad says "OK" and leaves the room.
So mom and I continue to play with her new Kindle, and dad comes back in the room and asks "How does she get The Help on that thing? Because that is the book she wants." My mom tells him (again) that I already showed her that and he says "Oh, OK" and leaves.
So then mom asks me if my books are available on the Kindle so she can get some. She's my mom so I'm not going to have her buy them. I show her how to go to Smashwords and download books from there, using my account to download my books to her device for her. Meanwhile, dad comes in the room again and says "Hey, they have The Help for that thing, right? How do you get the books on it if I want to get it for her?" For the third time, my mom chasies him out of the room while telling him she already knows how to do that and got it.
So we finally go back into the living room with the rest of the family. And my boyfriend, who is just as blitzed as my dad at this point, says "Hey, dad said make sure to show mom how to download books because she wants The Help." And my dad says "Yeah, make sure she knows how to get the books on that thing because she wants The Help."
"Good idea, honey" says my mom as she shakes her head. "I'll make sure she shows me befor they leave."
"See, good thing I remembered," he said.
