My husband and I each have K3's, but his is the one with Special Offers. He doesn't pay attention to them, but I'd like to know when new offers come out. I realize there are several good sources out there, like the KSO thread here on this board and the blog "Books on the Knob", from which I get regular RSS feeds. While these are great, they aren't "quick references". I would subscribe to the thread here, but there's a lot of discussion that goes on between new KO's and I don't have time to sift through it. Books on the Knob has a lot of non-KSO info also and I'm pretty sure I've missed out on some deals that I haven't seen on that blog. So... Is there a thread, blog, list, etc. that is dedicated exclusively an ongoing KSO list? Ideally I'd like to have an RSS feed with this info, but I'm happy to bookmark a page on the web that is kept current. Someone had a Facebook page dedicated to a KSO list, but it hasn't been updated in months. And, yes, I could just check my husband's Kindle periodically, but because he travels I don't have access to it on a regular basis. And, yes, we could just switch Kindles, but mine is 3G (which I depend on for regular WhisperSync, etc.) and his is not. Any suggestions? Thanks

Someone had a Facebook page dedicated to a KSO list, but it hasn't been updated in months. Generally, special offers are released every four days. Lately though, three of them were released late. The latest offer was released yesterday and the next one should drop on the 31st. I have a thread on MobileRead that discusses these offers and I keep it updated with each new offer. There's a lot of chatter in the thread, but the opening post contains an up to date list of all current offers and their expiration dates.

Well, there's this thread here: http://www.kindleboards.com/index.php/topic,66274.0.htmlIt's been ongoing since the SO kindles were announced and someone will post the new ones as they see them. That latest posts in the thread will mention the most recent offers.

The problem with Both of those ideas, is that ctychick is specifically asking for one without chatter. Like we have for the Free Book thread. Just a list of the offers, updated as available.

There is no chatter in the opening post. It's simply a list of all current offers with links to lists of all previous offers. Bookmark either the thread or the post and you're taken directly to the list.

Have you considered activating the Special Offers on your Kindle? Amazon now allows it and you can deactivate it anytime you want. Since you paid for a non-SO Kindle, there are no additional charges involved no matter how many times you activate and deactivate. It's another option if you don't mind having ads as screensavers.

The opening post has not been updated since May of this year, so is not current. Betsy

While perhaps this thread has more chat than is strictly necessary, , I see chat other than simple SO posts to be of more use here than in the Free Book thread, as it is often not clear to newcomers how to use SOs or how a particular SO works. I do a quick check of this thread every day when I see the "new" indicator. It doesn't take long for me to see if there's a new offer. But then, I don't have a life either, so it just may not seem long to me. Have you considered activating the Special Offers on your Kindle? Amazon now allows it and you can deactivate it anytime you want. Since you paid for a non-SO Kindle, there are no additional charges involved no matter how many times you activate and deactivate.

This is definitely a good option, Ctychick... Betsy

It's only an option on K3's and later. Not K1's or K2's. It's a great option for those who can make use of it.

The OP said she had a K3, so it's a good option for her. Betsy

I totally forgot about that option! Thanks. I'm going to switch to SO. If I switch back, do my screensavers go back to the dead authors?

Yes. I've switched back and forth a few times, no problems.
