I'm missing a bunch of new books (anything since the 21st). I've synced, sorted by date, searched for particular titles that Amazon shows as successfully delivered... Any other suggestions? I'll call CS if no one else has a solution.

When I had a problem with Kindle4PC a year or 2 ago, they had we delete the app from my PC and then re-load it. It worked! Gosh, and I don't even remember what the problem was. hmmmm.... Oh yeah, I had a book that showed my place to be at the end of the book and it wouldn't go back to my place, or even to the first of the book.
But deleting the app and re-installing it seemed to do the trick.

I know this is unlikely, but if you just happened to have gotten only books since the 21st from sources other than Amazon and emailed them to yourself, they will show in your archive, but the Apps cannot see them. I discovered this the hard way.  Elaine Norman, OK |

I second Vicki's suggestion. . . . .delete and re-install. And, Elaine is correct, too: content that is not supported in the apps won't be shown. So, for instance, my archive is 1300 on the PC app but 1330 or so on my devices. . .because my devices include some publications, blogs, and non-amazon content. But no books (purchased from Amazon) are missing.

Thanks everyone. The missing items are all books. I didn't want to have to do the registration dance and/or delete/reinstall because that will make the sort by date not work. I use the sort by date to go through and put items into categories since Amazon doesn't show us what items are not categorized on the PC. If I don't have the dates I don't know where I stopped last. I guess I'll have to use my Manage My Kindle page to get all the titles and search on the PC for each book.

Did you download them to your Kindle4PC app? Don't you have to go to Manage your Kindle and specifically choose to download them?

The missing books are both books sent to the PC and ones sent to other devises.
The cool thing about the PC app is that ALL your purchased Amazon books show up when "all" is selected. You can show just the downloaded books by choosing that option. I like to use the PC to put books into collections since all of them show up and I can then sync to the other devises.

The missing books have turned up. I shut down the app and restarted my computer and the next time I used the app the books were there. I did notice that if the app was running and I bought a book at Amazon it wouldn't show up until I exited the app and started it back up.
