I have had a touch  for a few days and noticed that where I hold the kindle a mark has appeared, which looks like a rub. The touch has also been kept in a case and I wonder if it may have been the case. Anyone have had the same problem.

I don't have my Touch in a case, and it does not have anything like you described on the back.  Mostly I just have little fingerprints on the screen, which I find somewhat annoying.

I don't have a skin on my KT (yet) and I only store it in a sleeve when I'm not reading. I haven't experienced anything like the rub mark you've described.

Can you take a picture and post it? I'm not quite sure what you mean by a "rub."

Don't think of it as a rubbed spot ... think of it as your Kindle is getting its own personality!  Smiley

I agree!  My K3 that I sold had some little "scuffed" places on it, not scratches really, and I just considered them part of it's personality.

I wouldn't worry. It isn't that noticeable and the case will cover it anyway.

I bought a cheapo case off of ebay for my DX and the dye from the imitation suede stained the rubber part on the back of the reader.
It's probably not wearing what you're seeing but staining. Try just a little tiny bit of rubbing alcohol, see if that removes it.

I skinned my kindle touch immediately (library , matte, decal girl) so I have no idea what is on the back of the actual case (love looking at the skin).

Maybe you had lotion or handcream on your hands and when you held the kindle their was a slight reaction..I used my kindle @ the beach yesterday and made sure I wiped the sunscreen off my hands prior to using my kindle.
