Hi guys, it's been awhile.

I now have a second Kindle - Kindle Touch 3G and the Home page is confounding me.

Is there an easy way to go to pages of Home other than page 1?  Tapping doesn't do it.  I can go to the top of the screen and search for 2 or 3 but can't figure out if there is another way.   I will be eternally grateful if you can clue me in on this.  Thank you.

Swipe upwards, as if you're pushing the page up, or right-to-left, as if you're turning to the next page.   Tapping is mainly for selecting things.

Well what do you know.   Works beautifully.  Thank you so much but I'll probably be back. Wink

I just want to say how wonderful it is to be on a message board where everyone is helpful and friendly!  This was a great example of it.   Smiley

Oh I agree with you there.

Time and work issues have kept me away for a long time.  Hopefully things will settle down and I can enjoy all the kindness and help you get on this Forum once again.

Also, the Touch is not all that intuitive.  I still haven't figured out how to highlight a passage over a page break.

There isn't a way to do it over a page break, as one can't hold the press for the highlight and have the tap for the page turn recognized.

Two ways to do work around, kinda...

Adjust the font size and line spacing size to the minimum and hope that your selection now fits on one page.

Or, use this technique I read on an Amazon discussion on this issue:

Quote
If you want to highlight across pages, first turn to the second page. Note the location number. Subtract a couple locations (depending on how much text was on first page). Then "Go To" that location. That will bring the beginning of the section to be highlighted toward the top of the screen which should make the entire selection on a single page.

Either way, as the discussion says, is "lame" but it's the best that can be done right now, apparently.
