I was reading Roger Zelazny's Chronicles of Amber once, when I had the flu, and went to sleep and had nightmares about whichever book I was on.  I did eventually finish that book, but not the series. For some reason I couldn't stand reading it after I got better.  lol

Geoffrey, I finished Lucifer's Hammer this morning.  My house is a disaster because I haven't been able to tear myself away from the book.  lol  This has definately been one of the best apocolyptic books I have read. Thanks for the suggestion!

Toni

Hi fadedrainbows,

I finished When She Woke.  I really enjoyed the plot and the characters in the book.  I might have to add dystopian to one of my genre's.

Thanks again for the recomendation Grin

YES, YES, YES! I have another minion, bwahahahaha. Dystopian is my genre du jour. Also, I am glad you liked the book as I was worried. It was one of my top reads this year, too.

If you want another good read in this vein, check out The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. It is one of my all-time favorite books ever. It is available for Kindle, but would probably be cheaper from the library.

I am about half-way through The Winds of War and definitely enjoying the book. Grin
I will probably need to read the sequel as well.  Grin Grin
I was just over half-way through the book when I was sabotaged by the hand-held loom my daughter gave me for Christmas. I needed to learn to crochet to finish the scarves for my daughter and granddaughters that I had started from squares I had woven on the loom. I asked for advice the thread for "Kindle Yarnies." I sent the scarf I finished for my daughter to her so that the granddaughters could say how they wanted me to finish their scarves. While I was waiting for the answer, I started crocheting a koala for my sister. I also promised my mom a pair of hand warmers. I couldn't weave or crochet while reading the paper library book. The "Kindle Yarnies" also are responsible for introducing me to the Ravelry site. I certainly cannot read any books while reading about all the other fun ways to play with yarn. (It is time for me to wrap up this true yarn.)

Therefore, I gave up on the library book yesterday and bought the Kindle version. Now my K2 can read The Winds of War to me while I finish the five yarn WIPs. I will finish the book before January ends!

You finished with a whopping 2 hours to spare! Maybe you'll cut it even closer in February (but remember this is a leap year)  Grin

It just goes to show how close a yarn can be cut when hooked on crocheting. Grin
