What did you set as the name for your kindle? Did you leave it as Your Name's Kindle or change it to something else?
Me personally, I have my kindle name set to "iPhone" because I thought it would be cool to have the Kindle say iphone on the upper left corner of the homescreen. (Don't ask me why)

Mine's just "Sarah's Kindle." Mine's on Mom's account, which includes her Kindle along with Kindle for PC and Kindle for iPhone. It's just easier to go down the list and look for my name when I want to send something to mine.

This topic comes up periodically. . .if you do a search you'll probably find several threads. But people never seem to tire of discussing it either! I really had no intention of naming my Kindle. . .I got my first one in July of 2008 and I've never been a "name a thing" type of person. But I was showing it to a young friend one day and she said "it's like a Magic Book". So I went home and changed it from "Ann's Kindle" to "Magic Book." Then I got a DX. Amazon named it "Ann's 2nd Kindle" which was just boring. I called it "The Bodleian" because it was basically a library, and was larger than my "Magic Book". My brother registered his Kindle to my account -- it was originally "Ann's 3rd Kindle" which was not a good name as it was really "Richard's Kindle" so that's what I called it. My K3 was named "Ann's 4th Kindle." Well, that was ridiculous. So I renamed it "The Tardis" since it's clearly bigger on the inside than it appears on the outside and can take me anywhere in time or space that I wish to go. I ordered a Fire on the day it was announced and couldn't wait for it so I went ahead and bought a K4: "Ann's 5th Kindle." That's just embarrasing. It became Hedwig because I was in a Harry Potter sort of mood. And when the Fire ("Ann's 6th Kindle") arrived, it became Fawkes. Actually, I renamed it even before it arrived and. . .now that I think about it, the Fire might have been the 5th and the K4 the 6th. Fawkes is a Phoenix, of course, who rises from flames to be reborn -- seemed appropriate for the Fire -- and Hedwig just seemed to go with that, being Harry's owl who delivers stuff to him. Anyway. . . .that was it for me. . .until Woot had a sale right before Christmas and I got a refurbished DX (A year ago I'd passed my first DX on to my aunt, and subsequently another aunt after she died.) "Ann's 7th Kindle" became Hogwarts. Still in my HP mood, I guess.

That would be confusing if you had an iPhone with the Kindle app on it! I don't really name mine - I might if I had more than one of the same model but it makes more sense to me to just name them "Kindle Touch", "iPhone", "Kindle for PC", etc than to try to remember some creative name and which device I gave it to.

I named my first kindle (my K2) Sylvia after one of my favorite poets, Sylvia Plath.
My K3 and KT don't have official names, but having them be "My Kindle" and "my 2nd Kindle" is boring. I need to change that when I can come up with some good names.

Mine is just Katherine's Kindle. Guess I would get more creative if I added more kindles to my account!

My Kindle and Kindle apps are just first name and device/app names. I've never been very creative?
So I've got Josh's Kindle 3, Josh's Kindle 2 (which my Dad has now, but still on my account). My K1 is still on my account, with my girlfriends name as it got passed on toe her.
Then I have Josh's iPhone 4s, Josh's iPad 4 and a couple of PCs and my girlfriends iPad 2 and iPhone 3g on their as well.

Mine is called "vita sine libris mors est". Latin for "life without books is death". I picked it up here on Kindleboards a while back in a similar discussion.

I have a K3 ("Kindle Keyboard") named Lomax the Sublibrarian, and a K4 ("$79 Kindle") named Wiggins. Both from minor characters in the Sherlock Holmes stories.

I was naming my Kindles after philosophers, but now simply:
Doug's_Kindle Doug's_KindleDX Doug's_Archos Doug's_Droid
Much easier when snagging a sample or making a purchase on the fly.

My first Kindle I just stuck with the default name. It was Stephanie's 2nd Kindle because I had already downloaded the Kindle for PC app. When that one died I got a replacement. That one I decided to name "My Addiction" since that is the truth. I can't go anywhere without it. Or at least I don't want to.
Now I've got the Kindle Keyboard and I've named that "My Portable Library." Not very original but true.

Nope. . . . . A while back there was a whole thread of interesting names that finished the phrase "sending to" (or is it 'deliver to'? whatever it is that it says when you actually send a book to your kindle) creatively. Things like "The far ends of time and space", "The depths of the sea", "The Center of the Earth". Some reported that they changed their Kindle name weekly, or more often, just to amuse themselves.

Apparently I am not at all original. My main Kindle is TARDIS, for the same reasons Ann listed above. I also have a lovely TARDIS-blue da Vinci Oberon cover on it. I stroke it lovingly and call it "dear" and it takes me anywhere I want to go. I do not, however, wear a fez, a leather jacket, or a celery stick. I do wear the occasional ridiculously long scarf. Second Kindle is Serenity (from Firefly, of course). I'm thinking about renaming it The Spare, since that's basically what it is. Kindle Fire is Katniss. My husband's Kindle Touch is called Keith's Kindle. Yawn.

Mine is called Charlie. I named it after the firestarter character in the Stephen King novel - since something kindled eventually turns into a fire.

Jan's Kindle. My wife has Julie's Kindle.
Unimaginative, I'll admit. But when you're clicking on the "Action" button and want to send a book somewhere, it's just a lot easier to have descriptive names!

Her name is Anabelle. Why? Well, as soon as I lifted her out of the box, I just "knew" that was her name. I think I'm telephathic that way.

My K1 is Sharon's Diva and my K3 is Sharon's 'Diva II (had to stick the apostrophe in there so it would automatically come up first in One-Click). Don't know where the Diva came from other than she loves the attention she gets and tries to please with hours and hours of reading.

Mine is "Ginny's Kindle xxx-xxx-xxxx" The x's are my phone number.
I'm hoping, perhaps naively, that if I lost my Kindle that would give the finder a way to get in touch with me.
