The power button on the K4 is pretty difficult to push. I can get it to go if I use my thumbnail on it, or press it really hard, but it doesn't seem right. I have a KT and the button on it is very nice and easy to use.

Anybody else have this problem?

I have noticed this as well.  I don't know if the button is actually smaller (which it might be), if it's just because the cutout area for it is smaller making it harder to reach, or if the button is just "firmer" and harder to depress.

I have both.  The button on my K4 is flush with the surround; the button on the KT protudes from the surround just a bit.

I always found the K4 button hard to press.  It's about the only thing I don't like about the K4.

Thanks so much, I feel better now!  I thought maybe it was just something wrong with mine, I hadn't seen anyone else mention it.

It's the one thing I don't like about it as well.  Especially since the KT has such a nice button.

I'm having one heck of a time trying to decide which one of them to keep.  They both have good and bad points, makes the decision really hard!

I guess I never noticed. . . .except to notice that it's easier than the slider on my K3. . .but I don't have a Touch to compare it to.  It's definitely a different shape than the Fire.  I don't find either one especially hard to depress. Undecided

The button on my K4 is oh so slightly raised from the surroundings. I don't like it as well as the slider on my K3, but I can live with it.

I'm with you on this.  I love my K4, even more than the K3 I had previously, but the power button can be hard to push.  I though I'd just get used to it, but with winter here now and occasionally wanting to read my Kindle while I have gloves on (e.g. waiting at a bus stop), I'm actually a bit more frustrated.  It's the only thing I don't like about the K4 and plan on sending in feedback about it.

Wow, I never thought about trying to push that darned button with gloves on.  I sure wish it was like the one on my Touch.  Easy-peasy!

Just found this - thanks for posting. I was afraid I'd done something 'wrong' with my new Kindle 4 (first kindle or ereader ever for me) power button! Mine is flush with the kindle and I truly can't imagine trying to turn it on while wearing gloves. I have a second Kindle 4 on my account and that has a power button ever so slightly raised. A slight inconvenience to learn to live with, I guess it is.
