LOL
But seriously, I've found that a trend from grade school has followed me throughout my life: I HATED to write & present & listen to book reports!
I highlight for myself personally (started doing this BIG TIME in law school) but I usually don't enjoy hearing the "why" that other people found parts of books enjoyable , particularly complete strangers (not even from very very close friends who love a book as much as I do).
So public highlighting was definitely NOT FOR ME  Grin When I upgraded from my original Kindle to a Kindle Keyboard (3rd generation), I had already heard about turning off public highlighting. The first time I encountered that, the first thing I did was get into the settings and turn that sucker off.

See, and when I first got my K3 (movin' up from K1) . . I went through the whole settings menu and 'fixed' everything before I downloaded the first book. Roll Eyes

Though I did do a factory reset at some point. . . .and forgot to fix it then. . .so came upon the squigglies and was initially surprised. Cheesy

Thanks Betsy,
I didn't know you could turn those annoying things off. When I read, I just want to read. Nothing ruins the entertainment for me like a bunch of notes (think editing).
