PDF of the same title disappears after d/l of sample??

I found a PDF for a book I was interested in, interested enough after reading the PDF to look and see if the Kindle version wouldn't be better... so I d/l the sample to my DX; when I go back to my home page... the PDF is gone?

Has this ever happened to you?

Sounds very strange! Was the original version actually on your Kindle as a pdf, or did you send it as a personal document and convert it?

If the former, then it is stored on the Kindle as a pdf file, if the latter it will be an azw file, so I suppose there is the possibility that the file was overwritten by the sample if it had the same name.

Have you connected the Kindle to your PC and checked to see if the pdf is still there?

No.  That shouldn't have happened.  Are you sure it didn't get uncollected or re-sorted somehow?  Are you sure you didn't accidentally delete it?

Even if they were both Kindle format the sample wouldn't over-write the other file. . . I've frequently had both sample and full book on kindles when I'd forgotten that I already had one or the other.

Very odd.
