Can a Kindle User read and vote on book reviews from their Kindle? Or can you ONLY download a sample. I'm confused on this matter, as I just use the free Kindle application for my computer.

Book reviews where?  I'm not sure what you are referring to?

You can read reviews (I think) in the Kindle store on the Kindle.  But it's pretty slow and clunky and you're much better off shopping for books on Amazon.com on the computer and buying and sending books to your Kindle from there IMO.

No idea if you can write Amazon.com reviews on their, probably not.  Maybe the experimental web browser would let you do it.  But again it would be very clunky and better done from a computer.

I have the Touch, and when I finish a book, a popup asks if I want to rate it. I've never done it, so I'm not sure if you can also type in your review. But the option is there to rate a book.

As mooshie said, you can see reviews for books when you're in the Kindle Store on a Kindle.  I do not think you can mark them helpful or not.  I am nearly certain that you can't write and submit a review.

When you get to the end of a book on an eInk kindle, you do get the opportunity to rate it.  If you've linked to FB or Twitter, you can share about the book whether or not you've rated it.  To my knowledge, this does not reflect in the book's rating on Amazon -- it's just in your personal collection/book list on Amazon.  I like it as it reminds me that I've read it. I've usually rated (without sharing) books as I've finished them ever since that pop-up started appearing on my Kindle. Some have been library books - I'm reading lots of those lately - but also others. Yet I haven't found anyplace that displays my ratings. They don't seem to be on my "Manage Your Kindle" book list. Where are they?

Thanks.

They'll show in your collection, which is accessible via Your account.  Also at kindle.amazon.com.  "Your collection" will have everything, including paper books. Clicking the book title will let you say when you finished it, rate it, and put comments and tags for yourself if you want. The other site is just kindle books but does allow you to mark that you're reading, or stopped, etc.  You can also see your and others' highlights if you wish.  Then in Books in MYK, that's how you send things to your Kindle.

I am really hoping that at some point they combine all these things into one useful page. Roll Eyes

Thanks, Ann! I remembered that there was a separate place that had all this extra information, but for the life of me I couldn't find it. It certainly would help for this all to be combined.

Ann, I'm confused about your two places. I found all my stuff on kindle.amazon.com, but I can't find this other site you mention. Can you give me a link?

Besides kindle.amazon.com, they're listed slightly differently in:

Your account --> Your collection.
        and
Your account --> Manage your kindle --> Books

Wow, so that's really three places.

Your Collection - I didn't know about this one. In fact even after you told me where it was I couldn't find it. I went to the Your Account page and had to search for the word "Collection" to find it.

It's in the "digital content" section for anyone who's still looking. Roll Eyes
