Debut thriller author seeking feedback on cover: Part 2 - the redo

I like the red one MUCH better.

You don't need to tell the whole story of the book on the cover. You should impart a sense of genre and tone. The first cover does a better job of that, especially since the other one is too cluttered (in my opinion).

The first cover is a positive 180 from the original, which was way too fussy to have the immediate impact you want. You have a compelling title and this new, simpler version makes me instantly curious to know more. The design is clean and has punch. You did a great job with it.

As a thriller writer myself, I go with the red cover. It's more in your face. Nice job.

I would go with the first one.  It has more mystery and that's what you want.

New cover is FANTASTIC!!!  I don't think Lynn was offended by your book description, I think she couldn't find it.  I, too, went to your Amazon page and all I see are the reviews.  I can't find something that says exactly what the book is about.  I can surmise a bit from the cover, but where's your blurb?  Maybe it's lost in amongst the reviews?  Again, great job on that cover!

Your description didn't offend me at all. At least, I assume that it wouldn't. As R.M. Rowan said, I just couldn't find it.

There's another thread around here somewhere about "hidden" and/or missing descriptions. It's just annoying for readers and can cost you sales.
