I am on my wife's amazon account with my kindle so that we both have access to the same books.  However, when I buy a book she receives the email on her pc.  I have been afraid to change to my email address on my kindle because I thought that maybe then my kindle would be off of her amazon account.  I would be much better if I got the email notifications for books I ordered rather than her.  Anyone know how this works?

The emails on book purchases for all Kindles registered to an account will come to whatever address is listed in the account for Amazon to send emails to.  Once you change it, all emails from Amazon, not just the book purchases, will come to that account.  So any purchase notificatioons will come to your email address.  If that's not a problem, just change the email on the account (Your Account > Settings > Change Account Settings) to yours.

There is no way to have book purchase notifications sent to different email addresses based on the Kindle.

So as I understand what you are saying that I can go to Amazon and in my wifes account change the email address to mine.  I couldn't just change it on my kindle?  In any case I think I'll just leave it alone for the time being.

Thanx for the reply.

I'll just note that I wouldn't like my husband, or anyone else, changing my amazon account information without my o.k. Roll Eyes  It kind of borders on 'identity theft' as you need to know the email address to log in at all! Shocked

But, yes, it must be changed in the amazon account.  There's no way to access that via the Kindle.  Well, there is, if you go through the web browser, but that's going to be a real pain.
