Just reviewed Adrian McKinty's "The Cold, Cold Ground" Loved it.  Genre is crime/mystery set in 1981 Northern Ireland.

I really enjoyed the first two books of the Michael Forsythe Trilogy, but hated the third book. Huge disappointment.  It read liked he had to deliver a novel under contract under a short dead line so ripped off the 24 style story telling.  Dumb TV to begin with, not tolerable in book form.  It also had a bad ending to measure up to the awful Blade Runner ending.

I'm not so sure I want to give him another shot.

I think it is his best yet, but of course, that is totally subjective. Best bet is to read the sample, at least that is what I do.
